Key Summary

About: The Diploma in Digital Science Engineer (Networks, Systems and Cybersecurity) is a 5-year engineering programme with a two-year prep and three-year engineering cycle leading to the engineering diploma (Master's level 7). It covers 548 days over 60 months. You’ll study information systems, secure network design, web apps, development, databases, big-data and cloud computing. The course builds technical and organizational skills so you can lead teams and manage large IT projects.

Career Outcomes: Graduates work as IT project managers, information systems architects, systems engineers, network architects, network administrators and cybersecurity engineers; may move into cloud, security, DevOps or database roles.

The current digital transition of companies is bringing significant changes to information systems (security, data access, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence) and new uses of IT (BYOD, teleworking, etc.). The CESI engineer uses his technical and scientific skills in this environment to successfully carry out IT projects that meet these new requirements. At the end of this course, the engineer will have all the keys in hand to progress in his profession, manage and lead large-scale projects. Beyond his technical and scientific skills, he will also be equipped with the human skills to build and manage a team.

Presentation

  • Possible options: In the final year of the engineering program, students can choose two options from, for example: Data Scientist & Big Data, 3D Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality, Cybersecurity, Robotics, Research, Project Portfolio Management, Business Unit Manager, Innovation, Entrepreneurship. The list of options offered varies depending on the campus.
  • The candidate's profile: Open-mindedness, ability to make suggestions, ability to analyze and synthesize, teamwork, technical curiosity
  • Where does he practice? With all businesses using digital services, the possibilities are endless; all professional sectors are accessible to them. Primarily recruited by service companies, they can also work in companies of all sizes, including groups, SMEs, and even startups.
  • Diploma: Engineer graduated from CESI specializing in IT
  • Company missions:
    • Preparatory cycle: Local program development / Website creation / Mapping or redesign of the local network
      Design and manipulation of databases
    • Engineering course: Design of WEB or mobile applications / Object-oriented developments / Design of secure networks / Modeling and administration of database systems or information Systems / Optimization of processing/algorithms
      Processing of massive data
  • What he will be able to do in business: In the preparatory cycle, the student will carry out the missions traditionally assigned to a senior technician: development of simple algorithms, design and development of electronic assemblies, embedded or non-embedded computer programs, carrying out functional validation tests, etc.
In the engineering course, the student evolves to move from the role of technician to that of engineer:
    • Confirmed technician at the end of the 1st year: he masters the technical aspects of his missions and knows how to apply them independently
    • Assistant engineer at the end of the 2nd year: he can deal with problems, requiring new solutions, and supervise teams in the field
    • Junior engineer at the end of the cycle: he is autonomous to deal with entire subjects, integrating the technical, economic, organizational and human dimensions.
  • The evaluation system: Assessed through continuous assessment, the educational program is structured into different Teaching Units. Each unit corresponds to a certain number of ECTS credits. One year is equivalent to 60 credits. Students must have validated all their teaching units and obtained their ECTS credits to move on to the next year.
The conditions for obtaining the diploma are:
    - Validate all the Teaching Units, therefore having acquired 300 credits over the five years of the training
    - Obtain a B2 level certification in English
    - Carry out a mobility abroad lasting 20 weeks
