Canadian Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence

Have you always wanted to soar through the open skies? Then this is the program for you! The Canadian Integrated Airline Transport Pilot Licence program is the choice for those who want a career as a professional pilot.

The program is provided in collaboration with Toronto Airways Inc. and will be run at their Oshawa Airport facilities.

Toronto Airways Inc. (TAI) has a long history offering flight training services, first at the Buttonville Municipal Airport starting in 1963, and quickly growing its business through the 1998 purchase of another up & coming flight training provider at the Oshawa Airport, the Canadian Flight Academy. In 2016 TAI relocated its’ operations to the Oshawa Airport; with all flight training activities now being conducted at its’ newly renovated Canadian Flight Academy building.

TAI is the holder of a Transport Canada Operating Certificate (which includes recognition as an Approved Flight Training Unit with Approved Flight Training Devices status), as well as being an approved Ontario Private Career College and Canadian Designated Learning Institution.

The program is designed to educate students for career success; developing the required skill sets for flight crew operating in multi-crew, advanced aircraft, in airline operations. The program uses scenario-based situations with intensive training in both aircraft and advanced flight simulation equipment to provide the knowledge and skills you need to obtain a Private Pilot licence, a Commercial Pilot licence and a (frozen) Airline Transport Pilot licence.

Notes:

• To apply for the Transport Canada issued Private Pilot Licence (PPL) applicants must be no less than 17 years old.
• To apply for the Transport Canada issued Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) applicants must be no less than 18 years old.
• All students must have proven English language proficiency. Enhanced proficiency levels, that exceed conversational English, is vitally important as students must be able to communicate effectively with (*) Nav Canada staff in the control tower, report their intentions and understand and follow Nav Canada instructions.

(*) Nav Canada oversees air traffic through a network of area control centres, air traffic control towers, etc., across the country – servicing airlines/business operations, air cargo/charters/taxis, helicopter operators and general aviation pilots and owners.

The integrated program is the choice for those who want an immediate professional pilot career. This program provides continuous training, which also allows for the early introduction of advanced Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Crew Resource Management (CRM), Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) and Scenario Based Training (SBT) - all of which is designed to help you achieve the applicable level of proficiency required to obtain a Private, Commercial and (*frozen) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Licence.

A (*) frozen ATP allows students up to 5 years to gain all the hours and experience required to obtain an unrestricted licence. Upon obtaining the required flight experience graduates may apply to Transport Canada for their full (unfrozen) ATP licence.
