Introduction

The One-Year MBA program is an integrated curriculum designed around business decision-making processes. After learning basic concepts, students enrolled in the accelerated MBA program follow a two-phase approach. Formulation and Implementation. The Formulation phase shows students how to identify business problems, recognize the key issues involved and develop solutions. The Implementation phase presents information on how to introduce solutions into the organization and evaluate results.

One-Year MBA Program Highlights

  • Students attend classes on a full-time basis during the day for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • The program starts in late August and concludes in mid-August of the following year.
  • Dedicated classroom, available to students 24 hours a day.
  • Professional Leadership Series - students interact with guest speakers from the business community, either on campus or during corporate tours.
  • National and International Internships are available.

Student Learning Goals

MBA graduates will:

One year MBA internships

Internships are an important part of the Canisius One Year MBA experience as they allow MBAs to apply their classroom knowledge to real world business situations. Our internships allow students to gain work experience, learn about different industries, and expand their professional network. In the last 5 years, our One Year MBA students have held internships in the following companies:

Entry Requirements

Applications will be processed when they are submitted, although an application cannot be reviewed for a final decision by the Admissions Committee until all materials are submitted. A complete application requires the following:

  • Application (on line or paper copy) including essay
  • An official transcript from each college attended
  • Current resume
  • Official GMAT or GRE score
  • Optional - Work Experience and Letters of Recommendations

International Students

  • Official undergraduate transcripts with accompanying Certified English translations (see organizations listed below).
  • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score report showing a score of at least 550 for the paper test, at least 213 for the CBT (computer-based test), or at least 80 for the IBT (Internet-based test). Scores must be forwarded directly from the testing service. Canisius also accepts IELTs scores of 6.5 or higher.
  • Completed Certification of Finances (COF) form, along with any necessary bank statements or sponsor affidavits, to secure a student visa.
  • Individuals who have completed university coursework at an institution outside the United States (except Canadian universities) must have their transcipts and degrees evaluated to be considered for admission.
