The MSc Management degree provides a fast-track into business for those with no previous experience and covers all key elements of management - innovation, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, organisational change and human resources.
Modules such as Entrepreneurship and Innovation will develop your ability to create and successfully grow an organisation, while courses on Accounting and Human Resource Management will equip you with a range of knowledge and skills in managing the financial side of the business and motivating employees. You will master the principles of Marketing in order to research your market and promote your business.

Course units details
During the course, you will be taking 180 credits in all. The eight taught modules during semesters one and two total 120 credits which can be viewed in the list below.
Semester 3 modules are also compulsory and will consist of two 15-credit modules and one 30-credit module that focuses on a business research project, during which you work in groups and individually. The project allows you to reflect on everyday challenges faced by managers, builds on your learning and links it with real-world business practice allowing you to showcase your management and research skills.
Recent topic areas include fast fashion, pharmaceuticals and corporate tax avoidance.
Program Outcome
You will learn to identify opportunities and risks in the global business environment in the module Trends in Global Business and Management. Building on Alliance Manchester Business School's leading position in the field, the module Sustainability and Social Responsibility will show how your business can improve the environment and benefit society as a whole.
The Business Research Project provides a unique opportunity to demonstrate your talent and showcase your new skills through a specific case study of a company or organisational issue. Taking place in the final semester, allows you to engage with the issues that you will experience in the workplace. Throughout the programme, field trips to major companies and external speakers provide opportunities to learn best-practice from managers and senior leaders.

Funding Opportunities for Master's Degrees
There are a number of Master's funding options for our courses and these will vary depending on whether you’re a student from the UK, or EU, or an international student from outside the EU.
Please note: if you are successful in receiving more than one scholarship award, the total scholarship amount must not exceed 50% of your course tuition fees.
Master's student loan for UK students
If you are a prospective Master's student from the UK there are potential sources of funding available. The UK Government has confirmed that Postgraduate Loans will be offered to UK students starting a master's course in the 2024/25 academic year.
Manchester Alumni Scholarship Scheme
The Master's Scholarship is offered to students and alumni of The University of Manchester enrolling on one of the Business School's taught master's courses.
BAföG funding
German applicants can apply for BAföG funding in the form of a grant, subsidy, state or bank loan.
Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships Plan (CSFP) General Scholarship
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission supports around 750 awards annually at universities around the Commonwealth.
