The International Business Economics BSc prepares students to understand global business processes and the operations of multinational companies. If you are aspiring to an international business career, interested in corporate solutions to global economic challenges, open to intercultural collaboration, or looking to start your own successful business, then look no further.
During the programme, you will learn methods for analysing international market trends, gain insight into the mechanisms of the global market, and acquire fundamental knowledge of international trade, logistics, finance, management, and marketing.
As the programme looks at distinct business cultures of different countries and regions, successful graduates are also able to navigate multicultural environments with confidence and work effectively in international teams, finding employment in international companies, multinational corporations, and organisations engaged in foreign trade.
Key Features
In recent years, interest in international business and economic studies has been steadily increasing, leading to a dynamic rise in enrolment in this programme. This is almost certainly because a degree in International Business Economics provides competitive knowledge and intercultural skills that can be applied in an international environment, and it also offers you the opportunity to enhance your language skills, gaining a high level of professional knowledge in foreign languages, an essential tool for building international business relationships.
Upon completing the programme, you will receive a degree certifying your qualification as an Economist in International Business Economics.
The programme is taught at our city centre campus and is also offered full-time in English.
Programme Structure
The International Business Economics programme combines specialised global economic knowledge on areas including economic policy, global markets, trade in mega-regions, and global tendering, with international business and cultural competencies, such as international transactions, international freight forwarding, business communication, and intercultural relations. This is all based upon the general economic and business knowledge expected of economists, including marketing, accounting, corporate finance, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate strategy, and sustainability, all of which will enable you to gain a comprehensive understanding of corporate challenges you are likely to face in the future.
We are offering double-degree opportunities as part of this programme with the following partner universities:
- Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany),
- Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Belgium),
- Shih Chien University (Taiwan),
- Thomas More University (Belgium),
- Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
Graduates from the programme can find employment in practically all areas of domestic and international companies and enterprises, and fill middle and senior management positions in different technical and functional areas. Their advanced language skills and understanding of economics also make it easy for them to work abroad (or for international companies operating in Hungary).
