The BSc (Hons) Midwifery program is designed to prepare students to become confident and caring midwives. It combines classroom learning with practical experience, allowing students to develop essential skills in supporting women and their families through pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood. Throughout the course, students will learn about anatomy, physiology, healthcare practices, and important aspects of woman-centered care. The program emphasizes the importance of professionalism, communication, and teamwork, helping students build the confidence needed to work effectively in diverse healthcare settings.
Students will also have opportunities to gain hands-on experience through placements in real-world environments, working with experienced practitioners. This combination of theory and practice ensures they develop the knowledge and skills required to provide safe, respectful, and personalized care. The course aims to foster a supportive learning environment, where students can develop both their clinical skills and their understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of women and their families. It also prepares students for registration as a midwife, equipping them to make meaningful contributions to women's health and maternity services.
