Introduction
You can find psychologists in a variety of jobs: Psychologists are innovators, meeting the changing needs of people, organizations and societies. They work with clients and patients, as well as with organizations and communities. They diagnose and treat people. Psychologists conduct both basic and applied research. Some may teach future psychologists. Many psychologists work as heath care providers. They assess behavioral and mental function and well-being and test intelligence and personality.
With a psychology career there is great potential to make a difference in people’s lives. Some places that employ psychologists are laboratories, hospitals, courtrooms, schools and universities, community health centers, prisons, and corporate offices.
A psychology major can be combined with another major or minor in related fields such as biology, sociology, criminal justice, philosophy and religion, political science, business, and more!
Students that graduate with a degree in psychology leave with knowledge and skills applicable to daily life such as: interpersonal skills, parenting knowledge, how to build and maintain a healthy relationship, effective job skills, and more!
