Black Hills State University offers a Bachelor of Science five-year degree (150 credit hours) in Professional Accountancy. This degree is designed specifically to prepare you for a successful career in professional accountancy, business, governmental organizations, and non-government organizations. The Professional Accountancy program prepares you for passage of the general Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examinations, as well as other specialized professional accountancy examinations.

The Professional Accountancy program at BHSU teaches you to think critically, analyze, and solve challenging accounting and business issues, to work as a team as well as on the individual level, appreciate and embrace diversity, and actively engage in intellectual inquiry and practice. These skills will keep you on the cutting edge of your discipline.

Another option in Accounting

BHSU also offers a Bachelor of Science four-year degree in Business Administration with a Specialization in Accounting. This program is for those who are not interested in taking the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination.

Internships

Internships are available for accounting majors. More information is available through the Career Center. Students can earn three to six hours of course credit for internships, in accordance with the policy set forth in the BHSU Academic Catalog.

There are several scholarships available. The amounts range from $500 to $3,000.
