Secondary Physical Education with QTS - BA (Hons)

This program prepares students to become qualified teachers of physical education in secondary schools. It combines practical classroom skills with in-depth knowledge of physical education, helping students develop confidence in teaching a variety of sports and physical activities. The course includes placements in schools, allowing students to gain real-world experience and see how their learning applies in the classroom. Throughout the program, there's a focus on developing skills in lesson planning, assessment, and managing diverse classroom environments.

Students also learn how to promote healthy lifestyles and support young people’s physical and mental well-being. The course emphasizes inclusive teaching methods, ensuring future teachers can work with students of different ages and abilities. As part of the program, students explore current issues in physical education and sports, such as ethics and inclusive practices, preparing them to handle a range of situations in their teaching careers. This well-rounded approach aims to fully prepare students to succeed as secondary PE teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
