Key Summary
The Mission of the Biology Program is to prepare students for careers in research, teaching, biological and medical fields,
industry and government, and for admission to graduate, medical, dental, allied health, and other health professional
schools. The Mission of the Bachelor of Science in Biology is in alignment with the Mission of the College to develop
scholarship, leadership, and global acumen within the students of the Department. By offering core biology courses
supplemented with biology electives, the Department meets the needs of our students by providing a curriculum, which
develops proficiency in the biological sciences needed to succeed in graduate school, professional school, and the
science industry.
