The profile of the contemporary cartoonist and illustrator has changed radically in the last two decades. Within digital culture, graphic languages have gained enormous visibility, an important job and market boom, and a growing cultural legitimacy. But these transformations have demanded from the cartoonist and illustrator flexibility and adaptation to change in terms of the conception, production, distribution and promotion of his work. Immersed in digital culture, cartoonists and illustrators are witnessing a historic role change in which they must continually reinvent themselves.

The Master in Illustration and Comic is a program located in contemporary times, and combines a phenomenological perspective of the various positions that cartoonists and illustrators have taken in recent history, with a practical, theoretical and experiential immersion in the current panorama. The Master delves into the professional keys of the draftsman and the illustrator that have to do, in essence, with the conception of an idea and its effective graphic expression. From here, the program proposes various approaches to graphic languages that define an expanded professional profile of the cartoonist in tune with the versatility that the current market requires. The program culminates with a Final Project (illustrated book, graphic novel, hybrid formats...) developed throughout the course in direct collaboration with active professional publishers,
