Introduction

Master of Science in Technology

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in Technology focuses primarily on creative research. Graduate students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members on a wide variety of exciting research projects. Excellent opportunities are available for students to be immersed in a vibrant research-intensive environment.

The objective of this program is to generate new knowledge necessary for the development of countries in the region and to prepare graduate students for challenging careers in industry/ academia/research and development (R&D) organizations in the global economy.

Duration of program

This program leads to the degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.). Graduate students must complete the program within the specified period of not less than two semesters and not more than five academic years.

Registration

Graduate students may register from 6 to 15 credits per regular semester and no more than 6 credits in summer. Under special circumstances, full-time graduate students with regular status may enroll for more than the maximum or fewer than the minimum number of credits specified above, but only if approval has been given by both the student’s advisor and the Dean of the Faculty.

Curriculum structure

The M.Sc. program comprises an interrelated set of β€˜subjects’ arranged in a progressive sequence. Individually taught courses are typically designed to carry a credit value of 3 credits each and will run through a single semester. Graduate students must study a grand total of 36 credits comprising 12 credits of taught courses and 24 credits of thesis.

Entrance requirements

All applicants must satisfy the following general entrance requirements before being admitted to Asian University. At the time of admission, the applicant must possess:

  • a bachelor’s degree in technological areas including sciences, engineering or related fields with a minimum GPA of 3.00 or a minimum GPA of 2.75 with research experience from an accredited university in Thailand, or another internationally recognized university;
  • proficiency in the English language.
