The International Business Management course aims at Dutch-speaking students with sufficient knowledge of English and an interest in studying in an international environment. In addition, the program offers opportunities for foreign exchange students and international degree-seeking students that wish to complete their further education in Ghent.

You better prepare yourself for a tough choice: are you going for a bright future in social profit, banking, finance, consumer goods, or IT in a multinational or NGO? Become an account, sales manager, project manager, or just as quickly an international accountant, business adviser, or HR or finance consultant. Or let your entrepreneurial skills run free and start up your own business!

You will be introduced to numerous business courses, receive personal coaching, study international cases and go on a study trip abroad. Combine these experiences with excellent language and digital skills, and you'll have the world at your feet after completing the International Business Management program.

First Year

Ready to kick-start your studies? The first year focuses on your international perspective. Belgian and foreign lecturers, international cases, and foreign languages make your kick-start a success. But we don't believe in a tedious theoretical approach. Learning by doing? Definitely yes! Examples of what you can expect in the first year are:

• You will get intensive personal coaching from your personal coach/lecturer.
• All classes are taught in English, but you choose which foreign language you want to learn. Chinese, French, German, Spanish or Dutch are the options.
• You will immerse yourself in international and diverse student groups. International mindset? Check!
• You can opt for a second-year student to be your buddy.
• All courses are taught from a global perspective.
• There is a strong emphasis on intercultural communication skills.

Second Year

You will further expand your skills and knowledge through the unique approach of modules in year 2. In each module, you take a deep dive into business topics such as global trade and digital strategy. After 8 weeks of class, real business challenges, guest lectures, company visits, assessments and more, you have completed the module and move on to the next. With this approach, you tackle real challenges from the field and dedicate your focus to one subject at a time. A great way to develop the skills to successfully work in an international setting.

• You follow seminars and guest lectures on economic, political, and intercultural topics: leadership, living abroad, and many more.
• And yes, you go abroad by joining us on a study trip. San Francisco, China, Berlin, ...? Welcome to dive in and join us for business visits and intercultural contacts.
• You follow workshops to explore your managerial talents: networking, time management, critical thinking, and many more.
• You will aim for 21st-century and top-notch digital skills.

Third Year

By this time, the real business world is quickly coming closer. So you are fully prepared to make a move on the labour market.

• If you want, combine studying at one of our international partner institutions (12 weeks) with an internship abroad (15 weeks). We will miss you, that's for sure. But, you are getting ready for the future!
• Or you can customize the programme to your interests:
• Study abroad for one semester or enjoy our home-based programme in Ghent. Follow the fascinating Entrepreneurship module or create your own solutions for a social challenge by joining 3ID LABS.
• Take up an internship in the international company of your choice. We have an extensive database of Belgian and international internships to select from, or you put forward a personal choice.
