Campus Features

Campus Kantienberg

Our largest and newest campus is situated in the heart of Ghent. You will find specific practical training areas and workspaces, general classrooms, an up to date media library, administrative offices, the executive offices of the different departments and a student restaurant offering varied and healthy meals.

The Artevelde University of Applied Sciences has its own student houses. In these student houses, there are rooms reserved for international degree-seeking students. All rooms are furnished with a bed (without mattress), a desk (without chair), a wardrobe, a washbasin, and a mirror.

Some rooms have private facilities such as a shower, a toilet kitchenette, or a fridge.

    Admissions

    Important dates for academic year 2025-2026

    • 5 November 2024: Start date online registration for AY 2025-2026
    • 1 May 2025: Online registration deadline (Non-EEA Students with a student visa)
    • 30 June 2025: Deadline payment of processing cost (Non-EEA students with a student visa)
    • 1 September 2025: Online registration deadline AY 2023-2024 (EEA students and non-EEA students without a student visa)
    • 22 September 2025: Start date of the academic year
    • 15 October 2025: Enrolment deadline
    • 31 January 2025: Registration deadline (Only possible for EEA students) for starting in February academic year 25-26

    General Admission Requirements

    In order to complete your online registration, make sure to add the following documents to your application:

    • coloured copy of identity card/passport (front and back)
    • diploma of secondary and/or higher education and transcript of records (include an official translation of these documents if they are not already in English, Spanish, Dutch, German or French)
    • (National) entrance examination(s) - only applicable if this is also necessary to access higher education in your country
    • Proof of English proficiency

    Language requirements

    Prospective students can prove that they have the required level of English by meeting one of the following criteria:

    1. having a secondary or higher education diploma where English was the main language of instruction
    2. having one of the following language proficiency certificates that prove you have at least B2 CEFR level and was issued within the last two years:
    • Artevelde University of Applied Sciences Certificate (only at Campus Kantienberg) (only at Campus Kantienberg)
    • TOEFL test: score of at least 79 - institution code: B527;
    • IELTS test: score of at least 6.5;
    • ITACE test: at least Level B2 for all completed components;
    • Duolingo test: score of at least 110.
    • Cambridge English Advanced certificate: at least Level B2 for all completed components;
    • Cambridge English First Certificate: grades A, B, and C (Min score 160);
    • Cambridge English Business Vantage certificate: grades A, B and C;
    • Cambridge English Business Higher certificate: at least Level B2 for all completed components;
    • Cambridge English Proficiency certificate;
    • IB Diploma (Diploma Programme);
    • IGCSE (awarded by Edexcel, at least three IGCSE A Levels - With two A levels with a minimum grade C).
    • Bachelor or master's diploma obtained at an accredited EEA higher education institution, where the teaching language of the entire programme is in English;
    • Credit certificate English B2 obtained at a Flemish higher education institution.

    Scholarships and Funding

    Unfortunately we don't offer scholarships. However, students have the possibility to apply for an Erasmus grant in the third year.

    Student Facilities offers a wide range of student services enabling every student to study and develop himself or herself ‘carefree’ and in the best circumstances. Get fit at only €1 per session, discover culture in Ghent for only €5 per ticket, indulge in our cafeteria and be amazed by the good quality and prices, rent a bicycle without breaking the bank, get access to all of Artevelde University of Applied Sciences’ media libraries and digital sources and visit our university medical service when you feel unwell.

    Ghent is the largest student city from Flanders combining the intimacy of a small city with the openness of a metropolis.

    Ghent is a UNESCO City of Music and has a wide range of musical events and nightclubs. International clubs, student clubs, regular events, etc. it is all part of our student lifestyle. We also got a couple of social activities planned for incoming students to get to know Ghent and the people around.
