The Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical) comprises core and elective courses. In the first year, students develop foundational skills in computing, mathematics, management, engineering sciences, and discipline-specific topics. The second and third years deepen knowledge of electrical engineering and include projects applying that knowledge.
The capstone project has close industry ties, with many projects sponsored by industry parties, enabling students to work against industry standards, build a professional portfolio and develop industry contacts. The programme carries 360 credits and is offered full-time over three years, with part-time study available for up to 10 years.
The programme is a 360-credit, three-year full-time degree with core and elective courses. Study progresses through Level 5, Level 6 and Level 7 courses.
First-year study establishes core engineering foundations; later study develops electrical engineering knowledge and applies it through engineering and development projects. Part-time study is available, with the programme page stating that part-time completion may take up to 10 years.
