Bachelor International Business - Fast Track

What will you learn?

The IB Fast-Track programme is a three-year Bachelor’s degree programme taught entirely in English. The programme delivers the same intended learning outcomes as the four-year programme, only more academic in nature, citing a broader range of literature and business theory. Be prepared to work on your personal, professional and global skills, and expect to learn the essentials of business.

Study load

This programme offers students a minimum of 20 contact hours per week during the first year of their studies. One contact hour is equivalent to one teaching hour of 50 minutes. Each academic year includes 42 weeks of lessons per year.

Contact time

The contact time within the degree programme comprises of lectures, seminars, projects, and team work. The number of contact hours per week in the first year is 20 hours. Contact hours are considered equivalent to 50-minute teaching hours.

Self-study

In addition to your contact hours, you are expected to spend around 20 hours working (either alone or with fellow students) on projects and research, assignments, or preparing for classes/exams via self-study.

Binding Study Advice

Each academic year, you can earn 60 credits. If you earn less than 50 credits, AUAS will issue a negative binding study advice (BSA). This means you will not be able to continue the programme. You will then meet with your study coach to discuss whether another degree programme would be more suitable for you. One credit equals 28 hours of study.

Internship

The internship contributes to the development of skills, knowledge and competencies enabling you to gradually grow into management positions.

The internship at an international company is a participatory one. You will get real-life, business-related working experience at an international company.

You will go through the everyday working activities within a business department, you are involved in a network of relations, and you learn to cope with working times and the pressure of work. For example, one of our students did his internship at a recruitment agency in the nuclear industry and conducted research to help resolve a real problem that the organization faced. Other students run their internship at the Finance department.

Your future

By the time you complete your studies, you will be prepared to pursue a Master's degree or enter the labour market. 80% of our graduates find a job within 6 months of graduation. With around 1,5 years of accumulated international experience, you will also be able to apply the hands-on skills that you have learned in a multicultural working environment.

You will attend classes with your own cohort of 30 students and benefit from a lot of class time contact with your faculty, learn from your mentor and receive guidance from your study advisor.

Our BBA-diploma is internationally recognised. The programme International Business is accredited by EFMD Programme Accreditation System (EPAS) as well as the Dutch Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO). We are proud to have received a ‘Distinctive Certificate for Internationalisation’ from the NVAO in 2010. We are also accredited by NIBS, the Network of International Business Schools.
