Key Summary

About: The Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares students to assist patients with daily living activities and provide basic care under the supervision of nursing staff. The course covers essential skills like patient hygiene, taking vital signs, and maintaining a safe environment.
Career Outcomes: Graduates can pursue roles as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), home health aides, or patient care technicians in various healthcare settings, contributing significantly to patient care and support.

The role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities which they are unable to do by themselves. It is a 2 weeks training program designed that provides a student with the required knowledge and skills to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the State of Connecticut. The objective of the CNA program is to prepare students for entry-level jobs providing them with the skills and knowledge required to assist in direct patient care.

In the end, this course will provide the student with hands-on experience to practice the skills learned in a long-term care center in the observation of a clinical instructor. Externships allow students to develop skills and allows them to make connections with working professionals. American Institute of Healthcare & Technology (AIHT) has clinical affiliations with numerous healthcare facilities where students will be placed at one or more of these affiliated sites and must complete their clinical hours based on the schedule provided by the school. Students are not permitted to begin the internship until all required classroom and lab hours are completed.
