Purpose

The goal of the Master of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (MAOM) program is to train you to become a licensed acupuncturist.

Overview of the Program

The Master of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine program is one of the most comprehensive programs in acupuncture, herbology, and biomedicine. The doctoral program includes 163 total credits. You will learn acupuncture and herbology extensively (361 regular points, 300 herbs, 200 formulas), along with tai-chi and qi-gong, tui-na, biomedical sciences, professional development, integrated medicine, clinical medicine studies, and clinical training. In addition, the college has a very strong clinical training program that includes observation opportunities at Houston Methodist Hospitals and hospitals in China. Accreditation

TThe Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Upon completion of the Master’s degree, students will be eligible to sit in the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine licensure examination.

Schedule

Most of the didactic courses offered in both programs are during the evenings and weekends. Some of the courses are also offered online.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition is $432 per credit. Scholarships will be based on both first come first serve basis on completed applications as well as merit.
