IATF 16949:2016 is the first edition following a series of editions on ISO/TS 16949 standard (Three Editions were released). Under the IATF, it is the first publication. The updated standard explains the requirements for a quality management system (QMS) where an organization can demonstrate its capability to supply automobiles and associated components and services so that the organization can fulfil customer and relevant automotive industry requirements consistently.

Introduction to IATF 16949:2016 (Automotive QMS)
This module explains the existing relevant standards for the automotive industry and enlightens the revision of IATF 16949. It also presents some important terminologies with related definitions as defined by IATF 16949; which are arranged in separate groups. It also enlightens how ISO 9001 serves as the foundation for this standard. All mandatory documents required by different clauses of the IATF 16949:2016 standard are also enumerated in this module along with its given clause reference.

Operations of Automotive Quality Management System (AQMS)
In this module; you will learn the operations of the QMS for an automobile company. It covers top management requirements and offers ideas to manage resource requirements in the organization. It enlightens the concept of laboratory management, preventive action, contingency plan, and facility planning like lean manufacturing. It covers all elements of product realization such as quality planning, customer-related processes, design and development, purchasing and production etc.

Performance Evaluation and Improvement
In this module, Clause - 9 and Clause - 10 of the IATF 16949:2016 standard are taught. Clause - 9 specifies the general requirements, management of monitoring and measurement issues, internal audits and management reviews. Clause -10 is related to nonconforming product management, corrective action, continual improvement, problem-solving, warrant systems, error-proofing, field test analysis etc.
