Master of Science in Mathematics

Alabama State University offers a Masters of Science degree in Mathematics, that typically involves the completion of about 2 years of study, passing the Graduate Comprehensive Examination on general mathematical knowledge, writing a thesis involving a certain amount of original research and passing the Final Oral Examination dealing with one's thesis.

Graduate degrees are the gateway to promotion either within mathematics. Our graduate faculty from the United States and around the world have had many years of experience teaching and doing research in a variety of fields such as ordinary and partial differential equations, dynamical systems, combinatorics, fuzzy set theory, symbolic dynamics, Boolean matrix theory, Diophantine equations, theory of algorithms, mathematical social science, finite-state machines, artificial intelligence, software engineering, supercomputers.

We have computer laboratories with a wide range of operating systems and computer software.
