Introduction
The Department of Sociology, founded in 2011, offers a unique program in the United Arab Emirates, combining sociology and social work. The program is aligned with the needs of society, as sociology and social service represent a vital sector that provides many job opportunities for students. The Sociology and Social Service program, designed by the latest international standards and specifications, has approximately 500 students enrolled and more than 1,000 graduates from more than 15 nationalities. It is taught by several qualified faculty members from more than 7 nationalities from a variety of sources of certificates. The program has It has local accreditation from the Ministry of Education in the country and international accreditation from the Higher Authority for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education in France (Hcéres). Thus, the program occupies an international rank on the map of international programs, as it ranks No. (8) in the Middle East and North Africa region, and teaching in the program relies on the latest global strategies. The program includes 240 hours of practical training in social institutions, in addition to a modern social clinic to hone students’ skills theoretically and practically. In addition, the program qualifies students to work in modern jobs of the future.
