Introduction
Master of Arts in Biblical Studies
This is a 2-year program designed to prepare students for a more effective ministry through a foundational biblical education. At the end of the course of study, a student should be able to: Demonstrate competence in the fields of biblical and theological studies; Display a broad understanding of biblical language; Exhibit competence in the exegesis and exposition of the Old and New Testaments and relate that competence to African realities; Acquire necessary skills for further scholarly studies in the field of Old or New Testament and Demonstrate Christian maturity expressed in commitment to Christ, to His Body and interpersonal sensitivity in character and lifestyle displayed in communal relationships.
It costs Kshs.75,000 ($750) tuition per semester.
Intakes are in August/September, December/January and April/May of every year.
Delivery modes are:
- Full-time
- Holiday (i.e. three weeks every April, August, and December), and
- Evening
The requirement is undergraduate degree with at least 1st class/2nd class Honours (upper division) or lower division with 2 years working/ministry experience).

- Demonstrate Christian maturity expressed in a commitment to Christ, to His Body and interpersonal sensitivity in character and lifestyle displayed in communal relationships.
Admission Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in any area of specialization from an accredited institution of higher learning with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, or a degree awarded with first-class or upper second class honors, or its equivalent.
- Applicants with 2.75 cumulative grade point average or higher or second-class lower division or its equivalent should have at least two years of relevant experience after graduation.
- An applicant who does not meet the above requirements must present an undergraduate degree in any area of specialization and a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant area of study from an accredited institution of higher learning with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, or its equivalent.
