The main goal of the training in the specialty Agronomy (Field Breeding) is the training of highly qualified specialists with a broad profile for the production of plant products and management of agricultural production.

The specialty Agronomy (Field Breeding) provides an opportunity to acquire modern, real and specific theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of crop production. The course includes current biological, agroecological, agrotechnical, plant protection, selection and economic knowledge, as well as the development of skills for optimization of technological processes in the production of plant products. Students gain specialized knowledge about the production of field crops, as well as the production of basic vegetable and fruit crops distributed in the country. The study of the zoned and most promising varieties of the main field, vegetable and fruit crops is represented. Special attention is paid, in addition to the botanical features and biological requirements of the varieties, to the soil-climatic conditions and agrotechnics, and to their reaction to the most important pests, as well as to the economic aspects of modern agricultural production.
