Introduction

The Doctoral Program aims to give students sound research training within selected academic fields. The Program is run jointly with the Centre of Graduate Studies at the University of Iceland (UI), and comparable rules and regulations apply to UI. The research project makes up the largest part of the program (150 out of 180 ECTS), and courses can be taken at another Icelandic or foreign university. AUI co-operates with various other universities, both domestic and international, about mutual recognition of studies. There is, for example, a long-standing formal co-operation between the Agricultural and Veterinary Universities of the Nordic Countries (NOVA University -Network), with joint courses being offered and mutual recognition of coursework.
