Introduction

The mission of the Faculty of Crop Science of the Agricultural University of Athens is to provide high quality University educations to graduates to be engaged in the Greek agricultural sector for the sustainable improvement, both in quantity and quality, of plant production. In addition, to create new knowledge on Crop Science by means of both basic and applied research, and to tackle problems of the rural sector related to the Faculty's scienctific fields.

About 650 active Undergraduate and 40 Postgraduate (MSc) students are currently studying in the Faculty. There are also 30 Doctorate candidates preparing their Theses. The department is staffed with 40 members of teaching and research personnel, working in the fields of Crop production and protection.The research activity of the Department is financed by national and international funds.
