Key Summary
The institution building, which was opened as the “Ağrı Girls Primary Teacher School” in the 1967-1968 academic year, was transformed into a 2-year Education Institute since the 1977-1978 academic year and continued its teacher training function.
It was affiliated to Atatürk University Kâzım Karabekir Education Faculty under the name of “Ağrı Education High School” with the Organization of Higher Education Institutions Law numbered 2809 enacted on 30 June 1982. In 1990, “Ağrı Education School” started to provide education at the undergraduate level.
With the law numbered 3837 and dated July 3, 1992, it continued its education under the name of “Ağrı Education Faculty” affiliated to the Atatürk University Rectorate until 2007 and in accordance with the clause (e) of the 2nd article of the circular numbered 2542 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; The Faculty of Education, which was established with the Annex: Article 73 of the Law numbered 5662 and dated 17.05.2007 and changed its name with the law numbered 5773, gained its current status depending on the Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University.
