Step beyond theory and into the director's chair. Lead a crew through pre-production chaos. Shape a film from first draft to final cut. This isn't graduate school—it's your proving ground, where everything you've learned becomes everything you can do.

Where Knowledge Becomes Mastery...
OurMaster in Filmmakingdoesn't revisit what you already know—it pushes you further. Building on your foundation in your background studies, you'll refine your artistic voice while commanding the full filmmaking process. In a program taught entirely in English, you'll work alongside international talents, creating films that transcend borders and connect with global audiences.
Where Ambition Meets Execution...
Under the mentorship of active industry professionals—directors who've faced impossible deadlines, cinematographers who've solved unsolvable lighting challenges, screenwriters who've wrestled stubborn stories into compelling narratives, editors who've salvaged films in the cutting room, producers who've turned chaos into cinema—you'll tackle complex productions that mirror real-world demands. You're not just making student films; you're building a body of work that announces your arrival as a filmmaker.

Where Creativity Drives Everything...
At 3iS International, your vision sets the agenda. Our cutting-edge facilities and comprehensive training across directing, screenwriting, cinematography, production, and editing exist to serve one purpose: bringing your stories to life at a professional standard. Every frame you shoot, every scene you write, every edit you finalize adds to a portfolio that speaks louder than any degree.
Where Careers Take Flight...
Our Master graduates aren't just entering the industry—they're making their mark on it. Armed with advanced skills, international experience, and a network spanning continents, they're directing features, running productions, and shaping the future of global cinema.

Your Bachelor opened the door. Your Master launches your career.
This is where filmmakers are forged. This is 3iS International.
At 3iS, hands-on learning is at the heart of our Master in Filmmaking program. Over two years, you will develop the practical skills, creative vision, and professional mindset required to excel in the global film industry.

Year 1: Foundations & Creative Development
From day one, you'll immerse yourself in core filmmaking principles—cinema history, sound recording, lighting, editing, and directing actors. Through scriptwriting workshops, you'll master narrative structure and dramatic flow, while advanced training in visual composition, sound design, and color grading develops your complete artistic vision.
You'll work collaboratively with students from other disciplines, experiencing authentic professional teamwork. Industry-led workshops and masterclasses provide real-world insight throughout the year.
.
Year 2: Specialization & Professional Practice
Your second year focuses on production and directing specialization. As executive producer, you'll master every production stage while strengthening project management and multi-camera techniques.

Personalized Mentorship
Each student receives one-on-one guidance from an industry professional in their chosen specialization—directing, screenwriting, cinematography, or first assistant work.
Professional Experience
A mandatory six-month internship bridges your academic training with industry practice.
Focused Learning Environment
Limited to 25 students, ensuring close interaction with instructors and personalized guidance throughout the program.
Each semester, students who successfully complete the program earn 30 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and accumulation System), totaling 120 credits over the two years.
This credit standard enables students to apply for student aid and funding. We can issue the necessary documents for you to provide to the relevant organizations.
Upon graduation, students receive a school diploma recognized by industry professionals, backed by the prestige of 3iS and the strong international reputation of France in the creative and audiovisual sectors.

The contemporary film and media industry demands advanced creative leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision. Our master's graduates pursue distinguished careers across the full spectrum of production, from auteur-driven independent cinema to global studio franchises, streaming platforms, and emerging media formats.

Leadership in Production and Direction
Alumni hold senior creative and managerial positions as directors, producers, line producers, and first assistant directors across feature films, premium television, high-end commercials, and digital narrative content. These roles demand sophisticated project management capabilities, collaborative leadership under pressure, and the ability to translate creative vision into executable production strategy.
Advanced Cinematography and Visual Storytelling
Graduates work as directors of photography, camera operators, and gaffers on projects ranging from independent arthouse films to streaming tentpoles. The proliferation of global streaming platforms has intensified demand for cinematographers who can adapt their aesthetic sensibilities across varied budgets, formats, and international co-production structures while maintaining visual consistency and authorial voice.
Broadcast Production and Major Live Events
Paris's position as a European media capital provides direct access to the continent's broadcast ecosystem. The city regularly hosts internationally significant events—haute couture fashion weeks, Roland-Garros and other major sporting competitions, UNESCO cultural programming, G7/G20 summits, and state ceremonies. Our graduates serve as broadcast directors, live event producers, technical directors, and multi-camera supervisors for leading French and international networks including France Télévisions, Arte, Canal+, and Eurovision, developing expertise in high-stakes real-time production.
Post-Production and Finishing
Alumni pursue careers as editors, colorists, sound designers, VFX supervisors, and post-production coordinators. The globalization of post-production workflows enables many professionals to collaborate on prestige international projects from any location, working with clients across time zones and contributing to complex, multi-territory deliverables.
Creative Development and Narrative Leadership
Screenwriters, script supervisors, and development executives shape the narratives that reach global audiences. Whether crafting original screenplays, leading adaptation projects, or serving as showrunners and writers' room staff for serialized television, these roles require both creative sophistication and an understanding of international market dynamics.

Emerging Technologies and Expanded Media
Rapid technological evolution continues to generate opportunities in virtual production, real-time rendering, interactive and immersive storytelling, and volumetric capture. Beyond traditional narrative filmmaking, graduates also establish careers in branded content strategy, feature-length documentary production, experimental video art, and executive roles within digital media agencies.
