In this two-year Financial Technology (FinTech) and Innovation post-graduate co-op program, you’ll learn how to leverage technologies for mobile banking, investing, borrowing services and cryptocurrency to make financial services more accessible to the public. The program begins with a curriculum that will provide international students with the Canadian context necessary for their academic and employment success. In subsequent semesters, this specialized post-grad program is at the intersection of IT and business where the combination of technology and innovation are utilized to create financial solutions for the rapidly evolving fintech space.

The Applied Research and Innovation Certificate training program is comprised of part-time and full-time internships with Selkirk Innovates, providing 400 hours of experiential learning focused on addressing real-world challenges through applied research. Each internship provides technical and professional, on-the-job skills training. Faculty provide interns with discipline-specific advisory and mentorship support.

Learners are provided with the opportunity to engage in applied research focused on addressing partner needs. Interns work with their faculty advisor and external partner(s) to scope projects, undertake applied research, and provide agreed upon deliverables to partners (e.g., research report, 3D printed prototypes, development of a new/revised data analytic pipeline). Pending grant and partner funding, paid internships may be offered through an ‘earn while you learn’ competitive and hiring process.

This program, which combines management and the social sciences, helps you discover new ways of solving social problems, such as poverty, discrimination, and the climate crisis. In this program, you will gain a deeper understanding of these deep-rooted problems, as well as the related systems and institutions. You will also explore models of organizations and social enterprises that can help to mobilize your community to bring about positive and sustainable change.

In the Inclusive Design program, you will learn to think differently and aim to break through societal barriers to address the growing demand for access and inclusion. You'll also explore equity and access issues through the lens of iterative design, leveraged by the application of inclusive digital technologies.

In the Drawing & Painting program, you'll learn to become a creative and engaged artist. You can concentrate on your painting studio skills and study art theory, history and contemporary social issues. You'll learn to speak and write about your artwork in various formats. A wide variety of options for courses are available that focus in digital, landscape, figurative and abstract painting.
