In today's ever-changing digital world, organizations rely heavily on the information and technology they use. South University's Masters of Science in Information Systems (MSIS), is a STEM designated program that was designed to help prepare graduates for a career in, or advancement within, a wide range of positions in the field. The program covers both the knowledge and technical side of the business to help bring organizations into the current age of information. Besides learning how information systems currently support an organization's operations, students will also learn how to design, develop, and analyze emerging information systems and solutions in a rapidly developing industry.

The 36-unit program in MS in Computer Science requires two years (four semesters) of full-time study and follows a cohort model during the first year in which all students take the same set of core courses. During the second year, students may choose from a rotating selection of graduate electives based on their interests and goals.

The 60-unit MS Computer Science Bridge program includes a one-year immersion in computing fundamentals, from object-oriented programming to algorithms and data structures. Students progress as a cohort through these foundational courses and, earning the required GPA, continue to complete the MS in Computer Science.

Computer Science is the study of techniques to represent, store and manipulate information within a computer information system. Computer programming is a major component of such study and is the focus of most of the CS courses listed below. If you are thinking of pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at a university, you should take CS 142 or CS 210 because success in these classes tends to be a good indicator of success in a computer science program.
