Industrial Engineering (previous name: Manufacturing Systems Engineering) deals with the planning, design, and implementation of complex systems. In developing and working with technologically and socio-economically complex systems, an Industrial Engineer faces the challenge of bringing together human, physical, and financial resources along with knowledge and information in an optimal fashion.

Graduates of this master program are expected to build their career on consulting or research & development of Industrial Engineering systems in various markets. They can work either in private companies or continue as a research assistant.

The objective of the B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering program at MEF University is to produce graduates equipped with core industrial engineering knowledge and skills, particularly in production and operations planning and design, quantitative analysis, simulation and optimization, and integrated systems design, who thus produce added value in the global marketplace while acting in an ethically and socially responsible manner and demonstrating professional and intellectual growth.

The Bachelor’s Degree Program of the Department of Industrial Engineering is a 240 ECTS credits 4-year program composed of eight semesters, each of which has a 30 ECTS workload. One ECTS equals 25.5 hours of student workload per semester. Industrial Engineers analyze human, machine, equipment, and other similar elements in both industry and service sectors. The aim of the Department of Industrial Engineering is to train engineers who can prevent and resolve problems by developing systems, models, and methods to plan, organize, implement and audit in all sectors. Industrial Engineers are capable of working in all fields of industries. They take responsibility in all steps of product development; from product design up to the implementation process itself. Industrial Engineers can work as manufacturing engineers, maintenance and repairment managers, quality control engineers, AR-GE engineers, production planners, and marketing-sales experts. Industrial Engineering as a field of study explores the following topics in detail: profitability, effectivity, productivity, flexibility, sensitivity, and providing higher quality. Our program at İstanbul Aydın University helps students understand product and service improvement.
