The Bachelor's Degree in History and Politics is a program with great tradition in British universities which for the first time is proposed in Spain. It aspires to provide interdisciplinary training in History and Politics with a double intention: the student completes a global understanding of the great processes of political change with a historical perspective and he can study History with the help of the categories of Political Science too.

This comprehensive one-year Master's programme will help you become the historical expert of your liking. Through our wide range of specialisations in different time periods, you will be trained to become part of the highly sought-after next generation of historians.

The MA in History and Heritage Consultancy offers a broad range of methodological and research courses, which allows for a specialization in your field of interest and flexibility in your planning. You learn to interrogate the complexities of history and heritage present in buildings, objects, practices, customs, and opinions of the past. You also develop relevant professional skills—for example, by completing assignments for public or heritage institutions, such as the Groninger Museum—which prepare you for immediate employment in history and heritage.

This BA (Honours) in Arts and Humanities (History) degree gives you the freedom to combine the study of different subject areas in the arts and humanities. You'll develop a specialism in history exploring different periods from around 1500 to the twentieth century. You can combine this with a second specialism or choose to develop broader interests in art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language, English literature, modern languages, music, philosophy, and religious studies.

In History Studies Delve into the past and unravel the complexities of human history with our master's program in History Studies, where you'll explore diverse cultures, events, and perspectives that have shaped the world we live in today. We offer two Master specializations in the field of History Studies: Applied History, Global History, and International Relations.

We offer a Bachelor of Arts in History, as well as a Certificate in Public & Applied History, and two Minors: History and Art History. With the Education Division, we also offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in Middle-Level Education Social Studies and Secondary Education Social Studies--History.

The BA Dual Honors is our most advanced arts program. It combines two in-depth training, the first in history, and the other in international studies or intercultural leadership.

A careful study of the past helps us better understand the present. History as an academic and professional discipline continually looks for the best ways to help us understand times, people, and places very different from our own. The department offers an undergraduate major and minor in history. It provides history subject matter content for teachers in Liberal Studies and for those interested in pursuing a career as a history/social science teacher, grades 7-12. The program’s curriculum also provides students with the breadth of knowledge and skills necessary to pursue graduate training in history. History majors may apply for the Jack Kilfoil scholarship. The Research Master's degree programme in History offers the two-year Master's tracks Classical, Medieval and Early Modern Studies. Classical, Medieval and Early Modern Studies explores Classical Antiquity, the Middle Ages and Early Modernity in Europe and the Middle East. You will study the similarities and differences between these periods. In addition, you will gain fundamental insights into the cultural changes that preceded the modern period.

The Department of History is composed of 3 areas of specialization: Korean history, Asian history, Western history. A structural understanding of each major period of specialization—ancient, medieval, modern—is promoted through study.

You’ll prepare for multiple career paths that call for clear and logical reasoning, the ability to analyze complex relations between cause and effect, well-developed writing skills, and familiarity with other cultures and historical eras. You’ll graduate proficient in the triumphs and tragedies of humankind through studies in American, European, and world history, and you’ll be prepared to make solid decisions that are grounded in the human experience.

As a student in the international track of the Bachelor's degree programme in History, you search for explanations of events that took place in the past and are still relevant today. You learn about the connections between various developments, and you're encouraged to dig deeper and ask critical questions. The programme takes three years. In the first year, you are given an overview of history from Antiquity to the present day, and you study Dutch history. In the second year, you examine history on the basis of various themes, such as economic and social history, political culture and cultural history. The third year, which includes a course unit on the theory of history, is used to deepen your knowledge. Your Bachelor's programme is rounded off with a thesis. As a history student, you are free to compile part of the programme yourself.
