13 Hair Coloring Degree Programs

This qualification starts with the basics of makeup application and hair styling and moves you through to the creative art of applying photographic make-up and the ability to create a hair and beauty image based on a theme. Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety practice in a salon environment.

All hair, barbering and apprenticeship courses are hosted in the Lee Stafford Academy at our Gravesend Campus. This is the only Lee Stafford Academy in Kent and South East London, and one of only 9 across the UK, with the training programme developed by Lee himself.

This intermediate apprenticeship programme will cover the essential skills and knowledge needed to be a junior basic hairstylist. The course will equip you with the ability to offer a wide range of hair services to clients and will consist of two years of study.

This course will interest you if you enjoy using your creative ideas in a practical way. You should also like working with other people and discussing how best to produce the looks you want to achieve. You should be prepared to participate as a model for fellow students which will require you to have your hair washed and blow-dried, make up removed and applied and also have your fingernails and toenails painted.

The Level 3 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to work in the hairdressing industry. Students will learn the creative art of cutting women's hair, the artistic skill of colouring, styling and dressing hair and how to provide effective consultation for clients. You will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety in the hairdressing industry. The qualification will give you the opportunity to develop your practical skills to an advanced level of ability.

This course is designed for 16-19 year olds. Our Hairdressing course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to access the Hair / Media Industry. Once you have completed your hands-on hairdressing training, you will be industry ready.

This course aims to provide trainee Hairdressers with an SVQ level 3 qualification. This is an opportunity for trainee hairdressers to develop their skills for the workplace.

Women’s and Men’s Hairdressing is a fast-moving, fashion orientated industry, where your creative and artistic flair can be explored.

This qualification reflects the role of hairdressers who use a range of well-developed sales, consultation, technical skills and knowledge to provide a broad range of hairdressing services to clients.

Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy study programmes at Tresham College are consistently some of our most popular at the College. Tresham Studios, our commercial hairdressing, barbering, make-up and beauty salons, operate at Corby and Kettering Campuses.

Apprenticeships are open to all age groups above 16 years-old whether you are just leaving school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career. You just need to be living in England and not taking part in full-time education.

This course is a day release course for Hairdressing apprentices in full time employment with a salon registered under the new National Hairdressing Apprenticeship scheme.

This SVQ is suitable for: Individuals who are currently in employment as a junior stylist and wish to obtain a formal qualification. Employees who wish to obtain short, continuing professional development courses. As the SVQ is a competency based qualification the following applies:
