Women and children are a unique and vulnerable group in global health. Global health interventions often target women and children because they suffer unique health disparities and yet they also show the most promise for improving health. The “Continuum of Care” for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) includes the provision of integrated services for mothers and children, from pre-pregnancy through delivery, the immediate postnatal period and the 'childhood. This care is provided by families and communities, through outpatient services, clinics and other health facilities.
