The Doctoral Program in Gerontology and Geriatrics (PDGG) aims to respond to the increasing need of advanced training in gerontology and geriatrics. Its major goal is to provide specialized training on direct intervention, policy definitions, service planning and research with older adults, involving the collaboration of national and international specialists. The PDGG is taught in association with the University of Porto, namely with the Abel Salazar Biomedical Sciences Institute, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Sciences Nutrition, the Faculty of Sports, and the Faculty of Humanities. It is therefore a conjoint degree awarded by both institutions – University of Aveiro (UA) and University of Porto (UP).
