    This programme presents a multidisciplinary education in the environmental sciences of the high latitudes. Due to accelerated changes, there is a need for experts with multidisciplinary training. The programme is a joint Nordic master of Agricultural University of Iceland with Lund University and the University of Helsinki, and students will graduate from two universities. The master program includes one semester in Iceland and students will have access to courses and research projects at any of the four additional EnCHiL partners. The curriculum contains a mandatory mobility period of at least one semester.

    In this programme, you will study environmental processes, monitoring and data management on local and global scales. You will obtain knowledge of various ecosystems, climate and climate change, land forming processes and land use. You learn useful tools such as GIS, remote sensing and digital mapping for analyzing and presenting data. You also gain the perspective of human activities, exploitation of natural resources and development. You will study in an international environment and learn both theory and practice through field excursions, group work and computer labs. Our staff has extensive experience working in different environments, from the cold Arctic to North African deserts and tropical forests in Central Africa and South America.
