The Foundation Year is a nine-month, full immersion preparatory course in Italian for international students willing to enroll in a BA taught in Italian at #UNIPAVIA. The Foundation Year is aimed at students who do not meet the minimum requirement – 12 years of schooling – to access the Italian higher education system.

The Foundation Year at Accademia del Lusso Milan is aimed at those who want to study a bachelor’s degree in Italy but who do not meet the minimum schooling requirement of 12 years. At the end of the foundation year, as long as you meet all of the entry requirements, you will be able to go on to study a bachelor’s degree at Accademia del Lusso or other receiving institutions.

If English is not your first language, this international foundation year will give you the necessary academic English skills to study for an undergraduate degree in UK higher education. Undergraduate degrees at the Bath School of Art, Film and Media and Bath School of Design are available as three-year or four-year programmes. The Foundation Course (FC) offered by the School of Economics and Management (SEM) is a one-year, multidisciplinary, pre-university course, fully taught in English. After completion, students acquire 60 Foundation Course Credits (FCC), computed on the basis of the equivalence 1 FCC 25 hours of total student commitment = 8 hours of classroom lessons + up to 1.6 hours of exercise classes.

The foundation year in business is part of a four-year degree and is taught at Kingston College, close to Kingston University's Penrhyn Road campus. You'll be introduced to professional skills, numerical concepts, business IT, marketing, customer care and business law.

The Foundation Year in Design is a preparatory course primarily addressed to international students with a high school diploma who wish to enroll into an accredited Bachelor's degree offered by Accademia Italiana but miss some requirements for direct admission. Nevertheless, Foundation Year is also a perfect choice for students looking a creative and exciting gap year in Italy, with a full immersion into the uniqueness of Italian art, design and language. This program offers a general curriculum balanced between Italian language classes and both very practical and theoretical lessons on Italian style, History of Italian art and design culture and methodology for the arts.

The Foundation year in Social Sciences takes place the year before your degree. It will provide you with a solid grounding of knowledge and study skills in preparation for your degree. This foundation year is taught at the University, giving you a taste of academic life in a supportive environment. You'll be introduced to professional skills, research and critical thinking skills, numerical skills, and critical reflections on global issues in the social world. Lectures, labs and tutorials will give you a broad understanding across subjects including economics, criminology, sociology and psychology.
