The Foundation Degree in Information Technology and Study Skills provides an academic and professional foundation to students of information technology and associated subjects, together with the study skills essential for succeeding in higher education. Students will also receive career advice.

This Foundation programme will give you the academic knowledge and practical skills in the fields of Mathematics, Statistics and Programming that are necessary to pursue Computer Science at degree level.

This program is only One Semester in duration. Do you want to study Data Science, IT, or Programming? This carefully designed foundation program is a pre-requisite for the BSc in Applied Data Science at Modul University Vienna or other data science study programs across Europe. In addition, our program can be used by students who may not have experienced an introduction into data science or programming, despite feeling a connection to the subject. Topics covered in the semester program include Business Communication, Mathematics, Calculus, and Basics in Computer Programming.

The Applied Cyber Security Foundation Degree program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to combat modern cyber adversarial. The program is unique in that it focuses not only on traditional cyber security principles but also incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to enhance cyber security strategies and understand, analyse and develop threat intelligence and threat modelling strategies. Students will learn to analyse data and develop algorithms to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber-attacks.

Use this foundational course to gain direct access into the first year of a wide range of La Trobe Bachelor degrees. In your Foundation Studies program, you'll study four subjects in each of your two trimesters. You'll also undertake independent learning to develop learning and research skills to prepare you for university.
