The Foundation Year in Design is a preparatory course primarily addressed to international students with a high school diploma who wish to enroll into an accredited Bachelor's degree offered by Accademia Italiana but miss some requirements for direct admission. Nevertheless, Foundation Year is also a perfect choice for students looking a creative and exciting gap year in Italy, with a full immersion into the uniqueness of Italian art, design and language. This program offers a general curriculum balanced between Italian language classes and both very practical and theoretical lessons on Italian style, History of Italian art and design culture and methodology for the arts.

This programme is designed to provide students with a pathway into an undergraduate degree programme in the School of Textiles and Design and the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society at the Dubai Campus. It is specifically designed as a foundation programme that will help students to bridge the gap between their school qualifications and the demands of a university degree. Students who complete the programme successfully will be able to progress directly into the first year of their chosen degree programme. The programme will help students to develop their subject knowledge while providing a firm foundation in IT, research and writing skills, academic English, and assessment and examination techniques.

The Academic Foundation in Italian Creativity & Design is designed for international and national students that are interested to obtain a First Level Academic Diploma but do not reach the minimum requirements, such as 12 years of schooling or previous knowledge about the creative and artistic sectors. The teaching methodology consists of practical, theoretical, and demonstrative lectures, visiting, and individual coaching/orientation meetings.

You will explore a variety of artistic courses and dive into Fashion, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Illustration. Developed by the Canvas School of Arts, the European Foundation Degree in Art & Design aims to let students create by having fun, travelling and learning a new language!
