Students in the MAHS: Counterterrorism Digital Forensics program are typically interested in working for the Department of Homeland Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), FBI, or NSA, among others. The emphasis of the program is on understanding terrorism, investigative techniques, and digital forensic techniques. Students may also consider pursuing a concentration in Counterterrorism Investigations, or the option of no concentration.

According to the DHS, the department currently employs more than 230,000 employees in law enforcement, business operations/mission support, immigration, travel security, prevention and response, cyber, information technology, engineering, intelligence, emergency management and more. The MACJ concentration in Homeland Security and Counterterrorism Digital Forensics prepares students to compete successfully for employment in the homeland security field, with a curriculum that reflects digital forensics investigation techniques and practices.
