The Master’s Program in Montage at FAMU is a full-time, English-taught, three-year course designed for graduates in film or related fields who wish to become creative editors — artists who shape the rhythm, structure, and emotional power of audiovisual storytelling. Rather than training technicians, the program forms editors as co-authors of meaning and collaborators in the filmmaking process. Rooted in the distinguished tradition of FAMU’s Department of Editing, the program emphasizes the editor’s role as a dramaturgical and conceptual partner to the director. Through hands-on workshops, critical seminars, and intensive collaboration across departments, students develop both artistic vision and professional discipline. Rather than being viewed as a post-production service, editing is approached as the very heart of cinematic expression.

The ESRA New York One-Year Filmmaking program is an intensive one-year program in the heart of New York, taught entirely in English by professionals and teachers from American faculties, for students wishing to work on international productions.

The Editing program is designed around the aesthetic, technical, and collaborative aspects of post-production with the primary focus on storytelling. Fellows develop the skills to be editors, assistant editors and post-production producers while collaborating with other team members.

The Film Department is a writer/director pathway. Students are immersed in the art of filmmaking—from initial concept, to script, to the editing booth. Students experiment with language, sound design, and lighting; collaborating with peers from across the College’s eight performing and visual arts departments.

MCAD’s Filmmaking major is versatile, experiential, and designed for a variety of fields. Film Studies at RWU explores the history, theory, criticism and aesthetics of cinema and the connections that movies have to broader social, cultural and political issues.

In Shenandoah’s film studies program, you’ll learn how to make your own films, with plenty of hands-on experiences available. You’ll also discover more about the history of film, as well as explore filmmaking from a wide variety of perspectives.

The Certificate of Achievement in Acting Level One is awarded to a student who has completed a beginning level series of acting and related courses in preparation for a career in theatre and related entertainment industries. This Certificate of Achievement will better prepare a student to secure a job in the professional theatre industry. Acting opportunities exist on the stage, in film, television, themed entertainment, commercials, industrials, corporate business theatre, and the video game industry. After successfully completing this certificate a student could be hired as a stage manager, actor, playwright, crew member in the film and/or television industry, production assistant, casting assistant, or general theatre technician.

The cinema created its own narrative with the help of the knowledge of pioneer art forms from the end of 19th century until today, and turned into one of the world’s most effective and important narrative arts. As one of the branches of fine arts, it also has the feature of being a commercially creative industry by its being able to reach a wide range of audience because of its audio-visual structure. The cinema, which carried the movement to screen with a technical invention, is a technological field that is developing day by day, which also reveals the cinema-industry relationship.

Within this Master's program, students deepen their knowledge and understanding of screenwriting. During this two-year process, the theoretical aspects are combined with the actual practice. Master participants study the history of screenwriting, the specificity of the film script and the possibilities of defining it. At the same time, he becomes familiar with different cinematic narrative structures, approaches specific genres, analyzes the possibilities of adapting a literary text and explores types of scenarios characteristic of television or VOD platforms (series, mini-series, etc.). The master's degree in screenwriting marks the transition from the tutoring system (approached in the bachelor's program) to the script doctoring system: the teachers of the year guide and support students in finding the theme, style and way of telling their specific story, as a script would do. doctors often used by industry screenwriters. The Certificate of Achievement in Acting Level Two provides students with foundational knowledge in the area of script analysis, acting for theatre, and acting for the camera. The objective of the certificate is to demonstrate skill, experience, and education in the area of acting to promote hiring in the area of theatre, film, television, and other media platforms.
