4 Environmental Management Degree Programs in Chile

The Master in Environmental Management has a duration of 14 non-consecutive teaching months. The program is structured in two training areas, the first related to Institutionality and Environmental Regulations and the second to Environmental Management in the company. In addition, each subject will have lectures and workshops, through the presentation of real experiences, both national and international.

This Master's program is the first offered in Chilean-Argentine Patagonia (south of Region X) and allows meeting the needs of the southern academic and professional community, contributing to the sustainable development of the region and stimulating basic science programs and applied in the most extensive territory of Chile: Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic Province. To meet the general objective of management and sustainable use of resources, the Master's program considers: 1) Include teaching and research in biological conservation in order to reinforce environmental, social, and economic sustainability in biological resource management practices. 2) Study of terrestrial ecosystems because they present essential ecological and biogeographic interrelationships with Antarctic and subantarctic ecosystems. Participation of academics from various disciplines associated with a set of national and international universities and scientific institutions that have competence in the area of ​​sustainable management for the training of researchers who contribute to the knowledge of southern biodiversity, its valuation and conservation, In this way, the training of a specialist in the area of ​​Management and Conservation of Natural Resources in Subantarctic Environments with a high scientific level preparation, capable of teaching and conducting research in the broad field of biological diversity, its ecological functions are sought. and its economic value under management and conservation plans that promote environmental and economic sustainability. This will allow technical advice to state or private organizations.

The Master in Environment program is a multidisciplinary program, of a professional nature, dictated between the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering. It is aimed at graduates and professionals in the areas of natural sciences, engineering, social or equivalent. Professional program that provides tools and knowledge of environmental management and chemical processes to professionals and graduates, allowing them to integrate into their work, initiatives that allow the development of human activities in an appropriate way with the environment.

This program, of a professional and face-to-face nature, is part of the professional and specialized development of teachers, who like you, seek to promote the strengthening of their capacities in the management of school coexistence under the current political and regulatory guidelines associated with the specialty, such as the Inclusion Law, Mineduc guidelines for School Coexistence, Framework for Good Direction and School Leadership, and Framework for Good Teaching. The program is very well positioned in the environment in which teachers operate, both in the municipal and private sectors, due to its theoretical-practical nature and the quality of the teachers who carry out academic activities in it. It is a program updated to current regulations and is oriented to the current characteristics of coexistence in the national school system.
