In the area of welded construction, both in Portugal, in Europe, in the United States of America and practically around the world, strict compliance with welding standards is required, such as, EN 1090 (product certification and factory production control), ISO 3834 (quality requirements), Eurocode, ISO 14731 (welding coordination), ISO 9606 (qualification of welders), ASME BPVC (Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code), EN 12953 (boilers), both at the personnel level (operator, supervisor, engineer, etc.), as well as welding and control equipment and processes, among others.

The MSc in Civil Engineering aims to give a professional specialization by developing the technical and scientific capabilities of the holders of a 1st cycle in Civil Engineering, which is offered by both institutions. The specialization fields in this 2nd cycle (Structures and Construction) as well as the classes' hours (after-work regime) seek to be in line with the needs and expectations recorded in the region.

The Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the New School of Science & Technology | FCT NOVA, is a first cycle course with a duration of three years, under the responsibility of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

The Physical Engineer is a professional who works in the field of Physics and Engineering, particularly in the areas of modern physics and of great technological impact. Holder of a consolidated knowledge in basic sciences, his solid training in engineering and in the most recent areas of applied physics allows him to transform science into technology, contributing to technological innovation in the business fabric.

The Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering (LEQB), resulting from the disintegration of the Integrated Master in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering with a long tradition at the NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA, and accredited by the A3ES in 2020, will come into operation in the academic year 2021/22. It lasts for 3 years, with a minimum number of 180 ECTS to obtain the degree.

The degree in Multimedia Engineering aims to train specialists in the field of multimedia computing technologies. Upon completing the degree, students will be able to develop multimedia systems, interactive e-learning content, multimedia applications for the World Wide Web; design and implement e-commerce systems, information portals, and virtual advertising.

The Master course in Production Engineering is aimed at all graduates in Engineering or Industrial Management who wish to develop and deepen knowledge about Production Management Technologies and Methods, in a perspective of integrated application and globalization of the markets, aiming at improving the professional performance in the areas of: Integrated Systems of Quality, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health The Master consists of a school part (specialization course) and a Final Project / Internship oriented to applications and to be carried out preferably in companies where graduates already work or in other companies that support the course.

The MSc in Agricultural Engineering provides training and qualification of graduates with a solid scientific and technical background to plan, design and manage agricultural and agroindustrial activities, ensuring the obtaining of goods and services in a sustainable, diversified and safe way for man and the environment.

The aim of the Master's Degree in Zootechnical Engineering is to enable students who, supported by a solid background in mathematics, chemistry, physics and animal biological systems, to develop advanced skills in design, design, technical direction, management, assessment, , teaching and scientific research in the various strands / disciplines of intensive and non-intensive animal production and their integrated approach to the basic processes of transformation and quality control of animal products and breeding animals for leisure and company purposes.

The Degree in Geological Engineering (LEG) came into operation in the 2006/07 academic year in the post-Bologna version. The LEG is a 3-year study cycle, six semesters, corresponding to 180 ECTS. It is accredited by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) for a maximum period of 6 years (last assessment in 2017) and received the EUR-ACE® Quality Mark, awarded by the Accreditation System of the Ordem dos Engenheiros, also for 6 years (2017-2023).

The Master in Agronomic Engineering arises from the need felt by the school community to continue the first cycle in this area that has shown good levels of demand by students who enter ESAS. Thus, this second cycle will necessarily have to continue and deepen knowledge in areas relevant to the region and the country, while looking at the future of the sector at the same time. The use of new technologies in agricultural production has the potential to increase efficiency and productivity and, in the long run, create more sustainable agriculture.
