The programme emphasizes a balance of both technical and soft sciences. Students are required to complete four core courses (total of 12 credit units). The primary purpose of the BSc Honours qualification is to consolidate and deepen the students’ knowledge and expertise in Energy Studies and to develop research capacity in its methodology and techniques of it. BSc Honours is essentially a coursework degree of which at least 25% (30) of the credits are devoted to a research project and reporting under supervision.

The MSc Energy Business & Climate Strategy (MEBCS) program at GEM addresses the pressing issues of sustainable development, energy, and the natural environment, preparing students to drive transition in the energy system, from the supply side to the demand side and its governance.

The UPPA is opening a 5-year integrated Master’s/Ph.D. program of excellence linked to the research fields of energy and the environment with research-intensive training in multiple fields. The "Master of Applied Social Sciences in Energy and Environmental Transitions ( ASSET )" is a track of the Master's degree "Science of sustainability". It is an interdisciplinary graduate training of excellence in 2 years of training in sustainability sciences from the perspective of social sciences.
