13 Electrical Engineering Degree Programs in Taiwan

The Electrical Engineering program at the National University of Tainan was established in 2005. With the rapid industrial growth, the cultivation of technology-talented persons is critical to Taiwan's economic development. A rich variety of advanced engineering opportunities are available in the newly established Southern Taiwan Science Park. It is only a thirty-minute drive away from our main campus. In 2008 and 2009, the Institute of Communications Engineering and the Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering were merged into the Department of Electrical Engineering, respectively, and has since strengthened our educational offerings. In the fall of 2011, the department integrated the three institutes into the Institute of Electrical Engineering and began to provide Ph. D. program. Our aims are: To familiarize the students with all major areas of electrical engineering and enable them to engage in advanced research and development in the electrical-related industries. To play an important role in the rapid growth of Taiwan's science and technology and develop our students to be qualified R&D engineers.

The College of Electrical and Computer Engineering has 73 full-time teachers in February 2010 including 11 professors, 36 associate professors, 19 assistant professors and 7 lecturers. In addition, there are about 2,070 students in the college.

We usually provide basic courses for the prior-year students of an undergraduate school, and courses and research programs with prospective and international views for students of the junior, senior and graduate school, in order to train students to cope with their future job and academic research.

By teaching fundamental science, mathematics, and professional knowledge of electronic engineering, the department mission is to train our students to be experts having professional skills, knowing professional ethics and social responsibility, and with a global view in the related technical areas.

Our research and teaching efforts follow three directions, namely, computers/networks, integrated circuits, and communications/digital signal processing. Research activities in these areas are expected to shape our distinguishing features in media communication, system-on-a-chip, and intelligent space.

The department offers complete academic programs in B.Sc., M.S., and Ph.D. to cultivate and train students to be professional engineers for The industrial requirements in Green Power, Communication, Control System, and System on Chip Design.

Master's program devotes to all kinds of research, which integrates electronics, information software as well as integrated circuit design, and combines with the industry to develop into an institute of hardware and software design centre.
