Students in the Department of Electrical, Information and Physics Engineering, starting from a grounding in electrical, communications, electronic, and information engineering as well as in applied physics, engage in research in such areas as the supply and use of electrical energy, next-generation information, and communications systems, functional materials and devices making use of nanotechnologies, the application of electronics technologies to medical care and welfare, electric vehicles, intelligent robots, and plasma engine for outer space vehicles. Through their studies and experiences, they obtain the necessary research ability and knowledge for becoming leaders as core and specialized engineers.

We will develop human resources who have specialized education in electrical and electronic engineering and a broad perspective. Established four educational fields of "electronic physical properties," "circuits," "energy," and "information and communications" for the development of new materials and devices. Now that advanced electrical and electronic engineering technology has become indispensable as a core technology that supports the highly information-oriented society, we will develop human resources with a wide range of perspectives and specialized backgrounds.

This department turns out engineers well versed in problem-solving who have studied both the theory and practice of electrical and electronic engineering and can contribute to the advancement of humankind and welfare systems while building a society in harmony with the natural world.

The department provides a wide variety of subjects including electrical and electronic engineering, control, communications, materials, computers, measurements, and energy engineering. The department offers energy and electronics courses. Each course is carefully structured to ensure that all students acquire the use of up-to-date techniques.

Creating a Future Through Engineering Course: This course is designed to foster engineers who will be involved in the technologies that will enrich people’s lives in the future. Monodukuri, Manufacturing Design Engineering Course: This course is designed to cultivate specialists who can play an active role in the fields of product design and manufacturing.

This program offers a curriculum consisting of core subjects that supplement the basic knowledge acquired in undergraduate studies and numerous specialized subjects for students to learn about advanced fields. Research activities are emphasized to help students build the ability to think for themselves and to uncover and solve problems.

While learning the knowledge and technology of electricity, electronics, machinery, and computers step by step and systematically, we will deepen our understanding of interrelated fusion technologies. These technologies have become indispensable in the industrial world, and will be expanded to the medical / welfare field and the aerospace field in the future. We aim to be an engineer who can play an active role by practically acquiring the latest fusion technology.

The elements and constructions of robots and information–communication devices are studied. Students learn not only the skills for electrical-electronic information and mechanical control, but also acquire applied skills such as bioengineering.
