The Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Università della Svizzera italiana in Switzerland is offered by the Faculty of Economics and all classes are taught by professors and lecturers who all have a strong academic record and that have taught and done research in some of the world’s foremost universities.

Upon successful completion of the study program, students receive an international private Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Global Economics degree, awarded by the school's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, based on the recommendation of the faculty from the local campuses where credits were earned.

The MSc in Economics (ME) is an advanced program offered by the Faculty of Economics at the Università della Svizzera Italiana. The goal of the Master is to teach students how to analyze economic problems at the national as well as international level and how to identify the most appropriate policy instruments. In a cordial environment and in close interaction with the Faculty, the students will be equipped with the quantitative methods and the analytical tools necessary for a successful career as a professional economist in the private or public sector. To optimally prepare for different career paths, the students have the option to acquire additional programming skills (minor in data science) or additional tools relevant for public policy analysis (minor in public policy). The master will also drive interested students into a Ph.D program.

The Master in Economics and International Policies (MEPIN) is offered by the Faculty of Economics of the USI Università della Svizzera italiana, based in Lugano, in collaboration with the “Alta scuola di economica e relazioni internazionali” (ASERI) of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, based in Milan.

The Master in International Economics and Politics (MEPIN) is offered by the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Italian Switzerland, USI, based in Lugano, in collaboration with the High School of Economics and International Relations (ASERI) of the Catholic University of the Sacred Cuore, based in Milan. The full-time study program includes 120 ECTS for a usual duration of 4 semesters and gives the possibility of obtaining a double degree.

This program is offered by the College of Humanities and Social Sciences/History, Politics and International Relations. It is available at the St. Louis home campus and at select international campuses.

The Master’s program builds on previous knowledge relating to business and economics obtained in a Bachelor’s degree program. The “Master of Science in Business and Economics” covers the interrelated subjects of Business Administration and Economics. Students learn how to apply formal economic modeling and empirical analysis to obtain insights into the functioning of companies and markets, covering a comprehensive range of topics including accounting, finance, innovation, marketing, personnel management, pricing, and organization. The program is offered jointly by the departments of Business Administration and Economics. It is a mono program (90 ECTS) and can be completed in a standard study period of three semesters. As a result, it is not possible to take on a minor subject. Students may choose a particular focus area or opt for a broader selection of courses, the only requirement being that a minimum of 30 ECTS are obtained in each of the two departments. Business Administration courses offer students an in-depth understanding of the functioning of modern enterprises. Students can choose from a rich array of topics such as accounting and controlling, corporate strategy, financing and capital structure, marketing, and organization, to name just a few. All the courses place an emphasis on empirical methods and/or analytic reasoning based on economic theory.

The modern course provides a well-founded scientific basic education in the basics of economics with an economic orientation as well as their disciplines and applications. The students acquire the theoretical basics and specialist knowledge, recognize the global economic context and learn to solve problems independently by choosing a suitable scientific method and applying it appropriately.
