The Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences is home to more than 6 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Faculty presents degrees in fields ranging from the proverbial A to Z – from actuaries to zoologists, and consists of 13 departments.

The purpose of the MCom in Competition and Economic Regulations is to equip students with the specialist knowledge and skills required to undertake rigorous economic analysis in competition and regulatory matters, contributing to the sub-field of applied economics. Successful students will be able to use these skills to analyze firm behavior in competition cases for the competition authorities and in the private sector. This includes mergers, abuse of dominance, and cartel cases across a range of industries. Students will be able to evaluate the potential harm of anticompetitive behavior to consumers, industrial sectors, and the economy as a whole.

The Master of Economics program is offered online via distance learning and is accredited by the Atlantic International University (AIU). After evaluating both academic record and life experience, our staff working in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Advisors will assist students in setting up a custom-made program, designed on an individual basis. This flexibility to meet student needs is seldom found in other distance learning programs. Our online program does not require all students to take the same subjects/courses, use the same books, or learning materials. Instead, the online Master of Economics curriculum is designed individually by the student and academic advisor.

The Doctor of Economics degree unites economic analysis with the practical aspects of business. The program is intended to prepare students for careers in research and teaching in business administration and similar fields of economics. The program research represents theories and research methods used by a variety of academic disciplines such as technology and operations management, corporate governance and control, labor, relations, capital markets and financial institutions, corporate finance, organizations and markets, international business, business strategy, and industrial organization marketing.

This programme is designed for learners who wish to specialize in the field of Economics, either for the ordinary degree or the honors degree. It is expected that learners completing the programme will pursue careers such as in Banking and Finance, Industry, the Public Sector and Development requiring applied economic research.

The Bachelor of Economics (BS) program objective is to help professionals develop an understanding of business, markets, trade, government policies and international issues, globalization, health, development, and the environment; so that they can become economists and analysts in the public and private sectors leading to careers in business, finance, international development, health, human resource management, marketing, management, and research.

The curriculum consists of a thesis that incorporates a research proposal, an oral defence (viva voce) and two manuscripts, based on the candidate's research, submitted for publication to a recognised accredited journal. Proof of the submission of the manuscripts is a compulsory condition for the degree to be conferred.
