The master's degree in Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Global Change Ecology and Biodiversity Management is part of the GLOBE project. CIIS’ Ecology, Spirituality, and Religion Ph.D. offers a nurturing community engaged in revitalizing relationships to Earth while exploring the intersections of world religions, Indigenous traditions, eco-spirituality, eco-justice, and eco-feminism.

Our Ecology, Spirituality, and Religion programs allow students to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and wisdom to respond to existential threats and evolutionary challenges from integral and transdisciplinary perspectives. We prepare our students to create new careers, cultivate change, and become pioneers of hope. In our programs, students develop deep familiarity with at least one religious tradition and specific ecological issue, and gain an understanding of the challenges – and opportunities – inherent to studying religion and ecology together.

Great changes have occurred in human society in the past 200 years, but much of this has come at the expense of the natural systems and species that keep us all alive and healthy. Even in remote environments, evidence of anthropogenic pollutants shows that nowhere remains unaffected. Through the Sustainability and Ecology programme, you will gain a scientific understanding of the issues surrounding the protection and rehabilitation of nature whilst maintaining essential or useful ecosystem services.
