The Bachelor of Arts in Drama Concentration is designed to provide a broad base of experience in theatre arts. You will gain skills through practical inquiry, experimentation in theatre creation and performance, risk-taking and application of research and theory.

The Drama major, taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree, combines theory and practice within a well-rounded liberal arts setting. You will be exposed to every aspect of the theatrical process, including acting, clowning, and improvisation; playwriting, directing, production, and design; and critical analysis and theory. You’ll also have the opportunity to pursue your own independent project in research and/or practice.

Improvise a scene, be a Shakespearean hero, improve your voice, tell a story, learn what makes a character tick, even perform in public! The study of drama is far from a vocational exercise. Familiarity with theatre and other arts provides essential life skills that manifest themselves in a variety of employment settings.

Drama Studies provides an education in drama and theatre, introducing students to many areas of the discipline including acting, production, directing, design, dramatic theory, and literature. Drama Studies show us new perspectives, challenge us, and touch us — as our lives and the issues we face are reflected in new and surprising ways.

This class is responsible for all aspects of the drama, such as acting, props and set.

Get two degrees in five years by combining your studies in drama education from K-12. Choose to become a drama specialist in the classroom by combining your love of drama and teaching with either the highly specialized BFA focusing on acting, stagecraft, design, and directing, or a BA with broader studies in science, social sciences, humanities and your drama major.
