Implementation of this field of study in the Ph.D. form of study pursues the requirement to make a fundamental contribution to strengthening the theoretical and methodological basis of research and research proper in linguistic and literary disciplines as well as British and American realia and their teaching at a higher education institution. It makes a fundamental contribution to the education of new experts and thus maintains the continuity of this research in Slovakia. Our graduates can work as teachers, translators, interpreters, linguists, employees of travel offices and agencies, text proofreaders, editors, etc.

The undergraduate study branch of General Medicine provides general natural science education that is based on a human and ethical basis. The study is completed with complex education focused on diagnostics, differential diagnostics, therapy and prevention of diseases.

The General Medicine programme takes six years to complete, and the teaching is split into pre-clinical and clinical courses. Aligned with the ECTs system, the Diploma awarded by JFMED is globally recognised and is a mark of quality education in medicine and science.

The PhD Program in Environmental Ecology provides a diverse platform for research in both basic and applied ecology. Topics may range from individual- and species-level ecology, population ecology and community dynamics, biodiversity, and ecosystem functioning to biological invasions, and ecological applications in nature protection, aquaculture, sustainable agriculture - offering flexibility to tailor the study focus to individual interests and research goals.

The third-degree (PhD) study programme in English Language and Anglophone Cultures builds on the bachelor’s and master’s levels and focuses on advanced research and interdisciplinary expertise in English philology within an intercultural and globalized context.

Dentistry is an independent medical field focused on diagnosing, preventing, and treating diseases of the teeth, oral cavity, and jaw. During this 5-year program, you will learn to manage the most common oral diseases, such as tooth decay and gum disease, while understanding how oral health is connected to the entire body. The course combines medical knowledge with hands-on clinical training, preparing you to work confidently with real patients after graduation.

Our doctoral program in Geoinformatics and Remote Sensing (GIS & RS) links to the research and education expertise of the Institute of Geography, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. The academic personnel and technology infrastructure of the Institute of Geography provides very favorable conditions to support the GIS & RS study. The Ph.D. program in Theoretical Physics covers the research of physical properties of solid-state systems, phase transitions and critical phenomena in diverse magnetic systems, theoretical investigation of skyrmions, ab initio study of electron structures of new functional materials, investigation of developed turbulence, percolation phenomena and chemical interactions, applications of statistical mechanics in geostatistics and data reconstruction.
